Diva's Challenge #227, Circus Life

I did most of this earlier in the week, and just remembered that I hadn't actually finished it. The Diva's Guest Blogger for this week is CZT Lee Darter, who has challenged us to create a tile using the tangles Cack, by  Adele Bruno, and Tropicana, by Kate Ahrens. Then just just like a 3 ring circus - chose from either Florz, Linq by Lara Williams or Fescu
to add a third element to your design.
I really wanted to use Linq, but Florz just wouldn't be denied.
I must admit, it seems a more natural fit. So here it is:
Be sure to visit the Diva's site to see the other wonderful entries; it's amazing how different all the responses are. Maybe you'll be inspired to try out one of the Challenges yourself.

Square One: Finery, Joey #69, It's a String Thing #101, and the Diva

Tomorrow Square One posts the new focus tangle, so I guess I should post my tile for this past week. It was Finery,
and this is mine:
 Check out the Square One/Purely Zentangle group on Facebook and see all the other entries for Finery and lots of others. Square One has you going back to the basics;
try it, you may like it

Next up is Joey's Weekly Tangle Challenge #69,
continuing with the Alphabet Monotangles,
here's  Florez:
Probably not one of my best efforts, but it'll do.

Take a look at Joey’s site to see the other entries,
and maybe try one yourself.

And here's It's a String Thing #101
Using String #101 by Yamit Fridman
 and Rixty by Maria Thomas
LG by Adele Bruno
Here's what I came up  with:
Be sure to check out all the entries @ Tickled to Tangle, on Monday afternoon, when Adele Bruno posts them. The vast differences that can be achieved using the same tangles on the same string are truly incredible. And, if you've a mind to try a String Thing yourself, check back on Tuesday afternoon,
when she offers the new ones.

Lastly, Katie Crommett, CZT, is the  guest blogger on I am the Diva, and her challenge this week is "Simplicity". Use only 2 or 3 tangles, and leave some white space; I love white space.
This is definitely a case of "Less is More"
So with that in mind, here's mine:
Be sure to visit the Diva's site to see the other wonderful entries; it's amazing how different all the responses are. Maybe you'll be inspired to try out one of the Challenges yourself.

Have a great day, see you next time

It's a String Thing #100, and the Return of Zendala Dare

This Week marks the Zentennial of Adele Bruno's "It's a String Thing." That's 100 Challenges! Can you believe it? In honor of this momentous occasion, Adele has created a string that evokes the number 100,

And she also came up with a new tangle pattern, called "100", including 8 variations.
They can be found on her blog, "Tickled to Tangle."

This is my interpretation, using 5 of the variations:

The vast differences that can be achieved using the same tangles on the same string are truly incredible. And, if you've a mind to try a String Thing yourself, check back on Tuesday afternoon,

Another celebration, of sorts: Erin, the Bright Owl, has returned with Zendala Dare #101
This is the template:

Joey's Weekly Tangle Challenge #67, Square One, and a non-related event.

A funny thing happened while I was on my annual trip back home (Chicago area) to visit family and friends. On my way from the motel where I was staying for the first part of my trip, to the home of my son and his fiance; I had an accident. As a result, I'm not quite myself, whoever That is.

Since I've got to take it sort of easy, I thought doing the week's challenges would be a piece of cake. But I've been having all kinds of computer problems,
so I'm glad to at least post these 2 entries.
Joey's Challenge #67, part of her alphabet monotangle challenges, is Dugwud.
Here's mine:
I used String #162 by Nancy Smith, and pretty much turned the string into one large Dugwud.
Take a look at Joey’s site to see the other entries,
and maybe try one yourself.

The only other challenge I completed, in spite of the fact that I started the Diva's and That String Thing, was Square One: Munchin. I hadn't really done this tangle before, except to try it in my sketchbook. I ended up trying a number of different approaches. This is the one I liked the most:

Check out the Square One/Purely Zentangle group on Facebook and see all the other entries for Munchin and lots of others. Square One has you going back to the basics;
try it, you may like it.
