Happy Zendala, Belated Welcome Back, Erin; and Redux, Remix, Revisit,

After a 3 month hiatus from Zendala Dares, due to School and other related pressures; Erin Olson is back with a new Dare. Hooray! Welcome back, Erin.

It's actually been a few weeks since Erin posted this Dare, but I didn't catch it right away, and then I was out of town, then I had house guests, and on and on. Anyway, since she hasn't posted another Dare yet, I figured I could still get mine in. 

Here is the template,

and here is the challenge:

"Feel free to use tangles that start with the letters in Happy, go to a place and tangle that makes you Happy, or use the tangles that make you Happy to be a Zentangle artist.  Just be Happy this week."

I decided to use tangles that started with the letters in Happy: Henna Drum, Aquafleur, Purk and Paradox, and somehow I added Auraknot in the center, and totally forgot a tangle that began with "Y". By then I had decided that I liked the tile as is, and didn't want to add another tangle (besides, there weren't any tangles beginning with Y that would have fit in). 

This is the tile at that point:

 And then I had a brainstorm, or it seemed like one at the time; use yellow for the Y. So I used various shades of yellow to color the tile.

 The other challenge that I attempted this week was the Diva's: Redux, Remix, Revisit, brought to us by guest poster Sharla R. Hicks, CZT, while Laura, the Diva, was at the CZT Seminar.

The challenge, basically, was to go back to some of our comfort tangles and change them around in some fashion, and/or use different colored tiles/zendalas, and/or different methods of shading. Other suggestions were:

• Exaggerate with bigify or miniaturization.
• Change up with thin to thick variations.
• Change up straight to curvy or visa versa.
• Draw with &/or without string. 

For both of the following Zendalas I used Black, Sepia, and Brown Sakura Micron pens, and various shades of Brown, Orange, and Yellow Prismacolor pencils for coloring and shading on Canson Mi Teintes Pastel Paper in a sort of light rust color (actually it's a little darker than it appears here).

In the first, I've used larger, more simplified versions of Orbs-La-Dee and Allium.

 

In the second,  an elongated Purk with reverse dark and light space, and Kandy Ribnz; and in both: Betweed and Paradox as backgrounds.
