Joey's Weekly Tangle Challenge #84, Square One: W2

Joey's Weekly Tangle Challenge #84 is to do a monotangle o f Undu. I had tried it out when it was first introduced; but thought it was so much like Diva Dance that I didn't get too excited about it. Don't get me wrong, I love Diva Dance in all its permutations. But I didn't see any reason to have another tangle so much like it. So when I saw that it was this week's monotangle, my first thought was Eh! But then when I started working on it, I really started enjoying myself. This was one of those real Zen-like Zentangle experiences.
It practically drew itself; I had a Ball!

The problem was; when I was finished, I realized that I had left no space to put my initials. So I improvised, and put teeny-tiny initials right on the tangle. Then I had a devil of a time deciding which direction looked good; but they all looked good to me. So, I tossed an imaginary coin, and this is it.
I hope you all like it as much as I liked drawing it.

and maybe try one yourself.

Square One's focus this week has been W2,
never one of my favorites. But I decided
to give it a try; and found that it worked out
pretty well, although it's a little messy.
It's still not a favorite; but I may use it again.

Square One has you going back to the basics;
Try it, you may like it.

Diva #240, String Thing #115

The Diva's Challenge this week is to tangle Autumn Leaves,
in honor of her son Artoo's 5th Birthday.
It's been a long time since I've been back home to see
real autumn leaves; so this is just my imagination at work:
And of course, a belated Happy Birthday, Artoo.

Be sure to visit the Diva's site to see the other wonderful entries; it's amazing how different all the responses are. Maybe you'll be inspired to try out one of the Challenges yourself.
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
It's a String Thing #115 uses
string # 116, by CZT Sandy Hunter;
and any or all of the following tangles:
Fandance by  CZT Diane Knauff
Swarm by Maria Thomas
and Cruffle, also by CZT Sandy Hunter
 I only used a couple of variations of Fandance,
along with Cruffle.
I couldn't  fit Swarm into the mix.
 Be sure to check out all the entries @ Tickled to Tangle, on Monday afternoon, when Adele Bruno posts them. The vast differences that can be achieved using the same tangles on the same string are truly incredible. And, if you've a mind to try a String Thing yourself, check back on Tuesday afternoon,
when she offers the new ones.
Joey's Challenge #83,
Joey's Challenge is up up the letter T,
so the monotangle for this week is Ta-Da
This was the first one that I did:
 But it seemed somehow lacking.
I thought color was what it needed;
so I tried doing it with colored Microns, colored pencils,
couldn't come up with anything I liked.
Then I tried white on black, silver on black.
Nothing seemed to do the trick.
So I stuck to the black on white; but tried to jazz it up a bit.
Take a look at Joey’s site to see the other entries,
and maybe try one yourself.
Zendala Dare #112
Here is the template that Erin Olson, the Bright Owl
has offered for this week's Zendala Dare:
and here is my take on it:
 After I did this one, I checked some of the other responses, and saw that someone had used the negative space to tangle in;
and I kind of liked that idea, so I did this one:
 followed by this one,
using the negative space going in the reverse order:
Once I got started, I almost couldn't stop.
But I restrained myself. So this is it for now.
String Thing #114, and Zendala Dare #111/Halloween
This week's String Thing uses String #114
by Dorothy Allison
with any or all of these patterns:
Ahh  - the 14th pattern listed on TanglePatterns,
Ta-Da - the 14th pattern listed under the 'grid' tab on TanglePatterns,
and
Teenos - the 14th pattern developed by Adele Bruno.
At first I wasn't sure how these patterns would go together.
But once I started with the first pattern that came to mind,
the rest all fell into place. And this is the result:
I'm pretty happy with it.
Be sure to check out all the entries @ Tickled to Tangle, on Monday afternoon, when Adele Bruno posts them. The vast differences that can be achieved using the same tangles on the same string are truly incredible. And, if you've a mind to try a String Thing yourself, check back on Tuesday afternoon,
when she offers the new ones.
 When Erin Olson posted the template for Zendals Dare #111,
I somehow missed the fact that it was supposed
to have a Halloween theme; so I did this one:
I like it, but since it has nothing to do with Halloween,
I did this one, too:
Joey #82, & Diva #239
I seem to be doing things in twos this week.
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````
First off, the Diva's challenge is to use Munchin,
and she suggested doing it white on black.
Unlike some other tanglers who said they don't like doing white on black, I love doing so. I had already done one when I watched Molly Hollibough's video on doing Munchin.

 And then I decided to do one with curved lines:
I like them both a lot; I hope you do, too.

Be sure to visit the Diva's site to see the other wonderful entries; it's amazing how different all the responses are. Maybe you'll be inspired to try out one of the Challenges yourself.
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Next up was Joey's Challenge #82,
a Striping Monotangle:
I wasn't sure about this one; so I did another:
I like this one better, but I decided to post them both after all.
Take a look at joey’s site to see the other entries, and maybe try one yourself.
Here's mine:
The Diva's challenge #238 is UMT (Use My Tangle)
Tri-Bee
This is what I came up with:
to see the other wonderful entries;
it's amazing how different all the responses are.
Maybe you'll be inspired to try one of the Challenges yourself.
