Celtic Challenge #31

Judy West, of Creative Doodling with Judy West has issued Celtic Challenge #31. This challenge charges one to fill in every one of the segments (there are 40 of them) with a different pattern. And then, because of the nature of a Celtic Knot, shade the design to emphasize the over and under weave.

I had never done this challenge before; didn't even know about it till I stumbled upon it a week or so ago. Since then, I've been playing around with it till I felt I had something worth posting.

I think this fits the bill. I may try another if I have time before the challenge runs out.

Be sure to check out Judy's site (link above) to see all the other entries. And comments are always welcome here. I'd like to know what you think, whether it's complimentary or critical.
See you next time.

I started working on my 2nd entry into the Diva's Challenge #130, using the prescribed tangle, Jane MacKugler's Henna Drum. After drawing that tangle on my tile, I looked at it and thought, "What could I possibly add to this that would enhance it or make it better in any way?" And my answer to myself was "Nothing." I'm going to post it here as is, and think about it before doing anything else with it.  I may try another one; I'll have to think about that, too.

After thinking about it during the day, I decided to leave it
as a Monotangle, but to introduce some color:

I still can't decide, so you be the judge. Please leave a comment, and let me know what you think.

In the meantime, thanks to Jane for a lovely tangle; one that I'd never used before but certainly will in the future. And thanks again to Laura for the Challenges. Please go over to her site, IamTheDiva to learn more about the challenges, and to see all the other great responses.

Diva's Weekly Challenge #130 UMT v. XIX: Henna Drum

The first week of every month the Diva's Challenge is UMT (Use My Tangle), where we are all challenged to use the specific tangle of her choice. This week it is Henna Drum, by CZT Jane MacKugler. I've never used this tangle before; I've admired it, but thought it would be hard to combine with other tangles. But while looking through the strings, String #1 just jumped off the page and told me what to do.

After rotating the string clockwise, this is what I came up with:
