Joey's Challenge #132; Finish My Tile: Diva Dance

Joey's challenge this week is another Finish My Tile:

 using Diva Dance.
And, as I've done for all the Finish My Tile challenges,
so far, I did a monotangle:
Since there are 3 versions of Diva Dance;
it worked out very well.

Take a look at Joey’s site to see the other entries,
and maybe try one yourself.

Diva's Challenge #286: Straight to It; and belated Diva's Challenge #285: Relax, bro

This week the Diva's challenge is to ONLY use straight lines.
Either use all straight line tangles, or try using a curvy
lined tangle, but with straight lines - for example,
what would crescent moon look like if it was all straight?

I decided to take a tile I had done previously with all
curved line tangles, and convert it to straight lines.

This was the original tile:
I did this one first:
but wasn't totally satisfied with it; don't know why.
So  then I did this one:
After I finished it, I realized that I had inadvertently changed
the direction of some of the line work. Can you find it?
```````````````````````````````````````````````````
I never posted my Diva challenge for last week.
The challenge was to just relax and tangle;
tangle as if we weren’t showing it to anyone.
I started out by penciling a string randomly,
without looking. Then I filled the sections with
some of my go-to tangles, whatever seemed to fit
the space. The leftover sections that were too small
for full tangles I just auraed. Then some shading,
and, Voila!
Be sure to visit the Diva's site to see the other wonderful entries; it's amazing how different all the responses are. Maybe you'll be inspired to try out one of the Challenges yourself.
Square One: Fife
The latest focus tangle on Square One has been Fife.
I did a Monotangle; I've been doing a lot of them lately.
This uses one of my strings, #175,
and 2 variations of Fife
Joey's Challenge #131, Finish My Tangle: Buttercup; String Thing #163
Joey's challenge this week is another Finish My Tangle,
using Buttercup
 As usual, for these Finish My Tangle challenges,
I've done a monotangle:
 Take a look at Joey’s site to see the other entries,
and maybe try one yourself.
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````
 Here's the string for Adele Bruno's String Thing #263

and the tangles to be used are:Andante, Cruffle, and Flukes
As you may notice, I only used 1 Fluke. It just seemed
to happen that way. Everything just fell into place.

Be sure to check out all the entries @ Tickled to Tangle, on Monday afternoon, when Adele Bruno posts them. The vast differences that can be achieved using the same tangles on the same string are truly incredible. And, if you've a mind to try a String Thing yourself, check back on Tuesday afternoon,
when she offers the new ones.

Diva's Challenge #284; Tripoli Monotangle

I'm a little late with this; but I thought I'd post it anyway.
I kind of dashed it off last night; dashed being the operable
word here. For some reason, Tripoli is not the easiest tangle
for me. But I figured that the more I try it, the better I'll get at it.

Joey #130, Finish my Tile/Tipple; Square One, Crezendo

At first when I saw Joey's tile for her "Finish My Tile" challenge,
I didn't think I could continue doing a monotangle with it, as I
had been doing with the other "Finish My Tile" challenges.

But then I had an "Aha!" moment, and came up with this:
 A little simplistic; but it does the job.

Take a look at Joey’s site to see the other entries,
and maybe try one yourself.

This week's focus tangle on Square One is Crezendo.

Diva #283 UMT: Centre Square; Square One: A-Dalfa + Beeline

Just getting caught up at the last minute.

The Diva's challenge this week, the first of the month;
is a UMT (Use My Tangle), and the tangle is Centre Stage,
by Aleesha Sattva. As is often the case; I did 2 versions:
same string, #175, viewed from different angles; and using
Sepia and Rust Sakura pens on beige tiles. The paper in the
tiles is very grainy, and when I shaded (with Prismacolor
pencils), it wasn't possible to smooth the shading.  So there's
a little extra texture.

```````````````````````````````````````````````
I did 2 previous tangles at Square One: Beeline and A-Dalfa;
I'm not overly fond of Beeline, but I really like A-Dalfa.
It's very versatile; lots of tangleations.
Joey's Challenge #129, Finish My Tile; It's a String Thing #161
Joey's latest Finish My Tile challenge is this:
using the tangle Sprigs.
Here's mine; again, a monotangle:
and maybe try one yourself.
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Adele Bruno has proposed this string:
And the tangles:
Hibred, Rain, and Raindotty
for It's a String Thing #161
Here's my take on it:

Another Tangle Pattern: Vs + Arches

Here's another Tangle pattern I came up with recently.
Due to an auto accident and an unrelated hospital stay,
I was spending a lot of time sitting on my Living Room
couch. As a result, I kept noticing the pattern on my large
picture window, which features a wrought iron arch divided
into 4 segments (sort of like slices of a pie). I've tried to
photograph it, to show my inspiration, but all I get is my own
reflection, or the view of the other side of the window.
Anyway, with a few modifications, here's my interpretation.
Of course, there's also the added problem of what to call it.
Lacking anything better, I'm calling it "Vs + Arches".

X-IT, a new Tangle Pattern

Here's a Tangle pattern that I came up with a
couple of years ago, but it never got published
anywhere. My inspiration came from the side of
a wrought iron unit I would see every time I was
in my bathroon:
 After doodling around, I came up with this:
 I look forward to seeing how you all interpret it.

Diva"s Challenge #282, "Spill It!"

This week the Diva challenged us to to spill something onto
our tile and then tangle it. I used some bottled beet juice,
which made a lovely deep pink splotch. I started out
doing it on 2 tiles:

I really liked the concept, and thought I might actually
use both tiles. But, unfortunately, that didn't happen.
I didn't start until Thursday, and spent quite a lot of time
working on the first tile. There was one section I just couldn't
figure out which tangle to use. So I went about filling in
the rest of the tile. And when I went back to that troublesome
area, I discovered that the juice had pooled up in the middle
of it, and was very thick. It wouldn't take the ink. I won't go
into details, but I tried everything I could to get it to work,
to no avail.  Finally, I was able to scrape off some of the
excess, but the results are not so great. I almost decided
 to scrap it, and forget the challenge altogether. But,
instead, in the true spirit of Zentangle, I figured:
"What the heck! I'll post it anyway."
Obviously, it's too late to try the other tile; but I'll save
it for another time. I still like the idea, even if I had a
 hard time executing it.

Be sure to visit the Diva's site to see the other wonderful entries; it's amazing how different all the responses are. This challenge really inspired some terrific tiles. Maybe you'll be inspired to try out one of the Challenges yourself.

Joey's #128, It's a String Thing #160

Joey continues her series of "Finish my Tile" challenges;
using Villers #2:
 As you can see, I'm continuing my series of monotangles
for  these challenges of Joey's.

``````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Over at Tickled to Tangle, Adele Bruno set up this string,
loosely inspired by the #6:
using the tangles Fengle and Shattuck.
I adapted this string very loosely; you probably can't see it.
But that's OK, as she also suggested using Fengle as the
string. So I kind of combined the 2 ideas. But as usual,
I couldn't decide on just one way to go with it.
So here they are: 2 for the price of one:
I'd be interested in your thoughts on this.
