The Diva came up with a unique, really different idea for
this week's challenge: use an image as the string, and
tangle around it. You can use a photo, or a copy of a photo,
or an image that you find on the Web or in a magazine.
Since I love butterflies (hence the name of my blog, and
my studio) I was going to use a picture of a butterfly;
a real butterfly. But then I thought, better still would be a
picture of one of my glass butterfly beads. In my other life,
I'm a glass worker, specifically a glass beadmaker. I make
glass beads to be used as the focal points of jewelry;
and of course have many pictures of them.
So I cut out a picture of one of my butterfly beads, glued
it on a tile, and tangled around it. And here it is:
I'm happy with it, although the glass probably
doesn't show up as well as I'd like.
Be sure to visit the Diva's site to see the other wonderful entries; it's amazing how different all the responses are. Maybe you'll be inspired to try out one of the Challenges yourself.
Wonderful tile :-)

Thank you. I'm really glad that you like it.
DeleteMust be great to be glass worker and that butterfly is gorgeous (must be so very pretty in real life). For the challenge I took a caterpillar, so the circle is round:-) I do like the tangles you used!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annemarie. Glad you like the butterfly, and the tangles.
DeleteNice to know you are a glass worker. I love glassart very much and have a few things in glass that are very precious for me...
ReplyDeleteYou have created a beautifu tile for this challenge Audrie, I love the butterfly and the surrounded tangles you have chosen.
