The first challenge I completed this week is
Joey's Challenge #50:
monotangle the vano tangle
So here's mine:
This is always a fun tangle to do; add a little color, and it's even more fun. I used some inexpensive colored pencils that were sitting on my desk; unfortunately they look a little splotchy in places,
but I really like the overall effect.
Take a look at joey’s site to see the other entries, and maybe try one yourself.

Next up is the Diva's Challenge. This week it's #207, and since it's the first challenge of the month, it's a UMT (use my tangle). This is a tangle submitted by one of the tanglers which Laura chooses on the first Monday of the month. This time around it's Unbatz, by CZT Sandy Hunter. It doesn't have to be a monotangle, but it has to be incorporated into your tile. So here's mine; I also used Sevaw (that's waves spelled backwards, can't you tell?)
Be sure to visit the Diva's site to see the other wonderful entries; it's amazing how different all the responses are. Maybe you'll be inspired to try out one of the Challenges yourself.

The challenges from SquareOne, It's a String Thing, and Zendala Dare (yes, Erin is back) will be up tomorrow or Saturday, I hope. Till then, have a good day or two.
Two nice tiles!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kate.
DeleteBoth are lovely! Wonderful rainbow colours in the first one!
ReplyDeleteI love to use rainbow colors; they really seem to inspire happiness in the viewer
DeleteWow, I love the Vano tile! The challenge tile is also very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI loved making the Vano tile; the colors make me feel good.
DeleteThat second tile looks like a lot of work...and of course the first one with color is my fave...because I see color and am totally distracted immediately! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI also am distracted by color. Much as I like the idea of the basic black and and white Zentangle, and the freedom that it brings; not having to think of anything but the patterns/tangles, color is still a big part of my work.
DeleteNice pieces. I really like the "wow" of the first piece!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jean. I think if it were the color alone, without the Vano pattern, it might not be such a "wow".
