The Diva's challenge this past week is Leafy Goodness,
focusing on Autumn Leaves. But I live in the desert,
and we don't have any real Autumn; at least in terms
of the wonderful colors we used to have when we lived
in the Midwest. So I had to come up with my own leaves.
I went online, and looked at images of autumn leaves
for inspiration. And this is what I came up with:
Be sure to visit the Diva's site to see the other wonderful entries; it's amazing how different all the responses are. Maybe you'll be inspired to try out one of the Challenges yourself.

This week, Joey strayed away from her Finish My Tile
Challenges. I will really miss them; I enjoyed them immensely.
Instead, she posted this string:
along with these tangles:
Dicso, Drogon, and Msst,
all of which I like.
So, here's mine:
Take a look at Joey’s site to see the other entries,
and maybe try one yourself.

And, last, for now:
the most recent (until today) Focus tangle on Square One
is Antique. I finished the Antique part early in the week; but
I struggled with how to finish it. Every day I would
pick it up and play around with ideas, but nothing
seemed right.
I don't normally object to white space; but this just
seemed unfinished. Until I decided to try Cheesecloth,
on the diagonal. That seemed to wotk; filled in
the empty space without detracting from Antique.

I like all three tiles - but the black and white one is for me the best :-) Gudrun S.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Gudrun, nice work but Joey's tile is also my favorite, the way you used Disco to combine the tree circles is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice work! I wonder what it would be like to live in the desert...I like your leaf-tangling. And what you made out of Joey's as well!👏👏👏
ReplyDeleteWonderful tiles, but I really like the Square One the best. The use of Cheesecloth for the background is brilliant!

Your leaf tile is a touch of genius...I love not only the colors, but the composition and tangles as well. Beautiful work on all of them!
ReplyDeleteLike others said before: all work is beautiful. The leaves are so creatively ranked.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! Love all your tiles! My favorite ist the Joey's tile!
ReplyDeleteLovely tiles. I love your Diva tile.
ReplyDeleteWow! So much beautiful work. I especially love what you did with the Joey challenge. I had such a hard time getting these patterns to play nicely with each other. The center Dicso is brilliant;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a desert dweller too and I do miss the riot of colors in the fall. Your leaf is very nice and colorful. Cheesecloth is so perfect for a backdrop to your Antique!
