This week's Challenge from the Diva is to use color. That's the only requirement; no particular tangles or string; just use color. Now, I love color. But I've been hard put to use it very much when tangling. I just haven't seemed to get the hang of incorporating color into my previously (mostly) black and white Zentangles. So I'm struggling with this one.
I started by laying out a rainbow using my Derwent Inktense Watersoluble Ink Pencils, then applied a wash over it. I next drew in the butterfly with the Prismacolor Premier 005 Fine Line Marker. I couldn't find my 005 Micron, and the 01 seemed a little heavy. When I finished, the colors seemed a little pale, so I added a second layer. Then the colors seemed to overpower the butterfly, so I ended up using the Micron 01 after all. It seems a little simplistic, but here it is.
As usual, I urge you to visit the Diva's site; find out about the challenges, see the other artists' entries, and maybe try it out yourself. For more information on Zentangles, go to this site: TanglePatterns/What is a Zentangle?
Thanks for visiting; leave a comment, favorable or not.
That's
how we learn and grow; and how we know someone out there is paying
attention.
Have a wonderful day, week, month; see you all next time.
Wat een mooie gekleurde vlinder..

DeleteThe colors are beautiful and so is the butterfly.
ReplyDeleteDo I understand now that you speak Dutch????
Thank you.
DeleteNo, I don't speak Dutch. I looked up a translation of what Leny said, and of how to say what I wanted to say.
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteVery nice
ReplyDeleteThanks, Helen.
DeleteLike how your colors came out. I used the same pencils but mine came out more muted. Guess I did not put as much down on the paper.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteAs you can see from my post, I added a second layer of the colors to get more saturation.
The butterfly is so happy in its colored world! Wonderful!
