Diva"s Challenge #282, "Spill It!"

This week the Diva challenged us to to spill something onto
our tile and then tangle it. I used some bottled beet juice,
which made a lovely deep pink splotch. I started out
doing it on 2 tiles:

I really liked the concept, and thought I might actually
use both tiles. But, unfortunately, that didn't happen.
I didn't start until Thursday, and spent quite a lot of time
working on the first tile. There was one section I just couldn't
figure out which tangle to use. So I went about filling in
the rest of the tile. And when I went back to that troublesome
area, I discovered that the juice had pooled up in the middle
of it, and was very thick. It wouldn't take the ink. I won't go
into details, but I tried everything I could to get it to work,
to no avail.  Finally, I was able to scrape off some of the
excess, but the results are not so great. I almost decided
to scrap it, and forget the challenge altogether. But,
instead, in the true spirit of Zentangle, I figured:
"What the heck! I'll post it anyway."
Obviously, it's too late to try the other tile; but I'll save
it for another time. I still like the idea, even if I had a
 hard time executing it.

Be sure to visit the Diva's site to see the other wonderful entries; it's amazing how different all the responses are. This challenge really inspired some terrific tiles. Maybe you'll be inspired to try out one of the Challenges yourself.

  2. Me too like the result: beautiful colors and a good choice of tangles.
I agree with Anne, no one can see your troubles, this is a nice tile.

  3. Thumbs up for the attitude - although I don't understand why exactly you are so unsattisfied. I don't know what the tangle's name is, but I especially like the fan-like tangle in the middle/lower right, naxt to Antidots. And the border-like tangle on the left, coming from Antidots.
